Winter 2020 Newsletter – Moment Weight Instruments – The Best Way to Balance an Engine Stage

Raptor Scientific produces the most accurate Moment Weight measuring instruments and software solutions for classification measurements and balancing of Fan/Turbine/Compressor blades. Our instruments measure static moment weight for one blade axis (radial) or all three blade axes (radial, axial, tangential). These instruments are capable of handling blades weighing just a few ounces up to over 100 pounds.

Manually calculating a blade distribution balance solution for a stage assembly can be inaccurate, time consuming, and expensive. Our Blade-Classification Software and Blade-Distribution Software saves time and provides a balance solution without the uncertainty associated with repeated trial and error methods.

Raptor Scientifics’ moment weight instruments provide the highest measurement accuracy which ultimately leads to a final rotor solution with the smallest amount of residual unbalance uncertainty as possible. In addition to our instrument and software solutions, Raptor Scientifics has the expertise to design and manufacture fixturing that is critical to meeting the high-performance requirements of today’s engine designs.
