Eastern OptX

Eastern OptX began designing and developing fiber-optic delay lines for the RF and microwave communities in 1998. Leveraging the inherently low loss of fiber-optic cable, the company initially introduced delay line solutions for radar target simulation. Since then, Eastern OptX’s microwave delay line technology has expanded into a wide range of applications, including EW, ECM/ECCM, altimeter calibration, radio range emulation, and select multipath fading scenarios. Current product offerings span from single RF signal delays up to 3 GHz to eight discrete, GPIB- and Ethernet-programmable delays for signals exceeding 40 GHz. Eastern OptX has delivered systems capable of time delays greater than 1,000 microseconds—equivalent to more than 80 radar miles.

Eastern OptX maintains an outstanding operational performance record, with virtually no system downtime. Across more than 140,000 cumulative operational hours in diverse environmental conditions, these systems have consistently demonstrated durability and reliability, with some operating continuously for over four years. Products are engineered by a highly experienced team with decades of expertise in aerospace and defense, drawing on strengths in RF and microwave, optical, mechanical, electrical, and software engineering. Advanced CAD and simulation tools are used to create optimized designs that rapidly meet customer requirements, and many systems incorporate custom software tailored to specific applications.

Beyond technical expertise, the Eastern OptX team brings a deep understanding of customer applications and performance needs. This combined skill set enables close collaboration throughout the design process, ensuring systems are developed and delivered to perform correctly the first time, reducing program risk, delays, and costly rework.

All Eastern OptX systems are manufactured, tested, and calibrated in a state-of-the-art facility compliant with the following certifications and standards: AS9100, SIP-16 (MIL-I-45208A), IPC-620, IPC-J-STD, MIL-STD-1686C (ESD), and ANSI-17025 (Z540).

The latest test and measurement equipment is used throughout manufacturing, alignment, and verification. In partnership with customers, Eastern OptX develops systems with intuitive controls, software, and interfaces.
